Apple may soon be revealing new revisions of its popular iPod music player.

According to latest rumors, Apple is all set to reveal new models of its iPod range of mp3 players.

The iPod Touch will get an overhaul with features from the iPhone 4, including a front facing camera for Facetime, a photo camera with flash and gyroscope functionality. A new 1.7″ iPod shuffle may also be introduced with touchscreen capabilities. An iPod Nano revision is also in the works.

Apple will be holding a press conference on August 16th or August 17th (that’s next week!) to unveil the new models, according to MacMagazine.

As usual, Apple has not yet commented on the rumors. But most the recent rumors about anything Apple has been pretty much bang on, so it leaves no doubt Apple will be revealing new revisions pretty soon; it’s about time as well, anyway!

If the new iPods are like the iPhone with that gorgeous screen and a camera, then I might just skip getting the iPhone 4 and use an Android (or BB if it works after 11/10) as my phone and the iPod as my entertainment device.
