Gigabyte’s mid-range offering is almost as good as the flagship models.
For our benchmarks we have used an Intel Core i7 965 EE matched with Corsairs XMS3-1333 3GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX 280 1GB graphics card. Powering the whole system is the Corsair HX1000W PSU.
Starting off with the synthetic benchmarks, you can see that this mainstream offering from Gigabyte is a tad bit lower compared to high-end boards. The gaming benchmarks show a different story however.
Once again we have used StarCraft II as one of our benchmark titles since the game is heavily dependent on both GPU and CPU resources. Overall the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R is fairly competitve against the high-end motherboards.
