Mozilla adds further Javascript improvements in the new Firefox beta.

Mozilla announced that it has released a new beta for Firefox 4, making it the 3rd beta update in their upcoming browser’s development cycle. Firefox Beta 3 is now available in 30 languages, and features support for Windows 7′s multi-touch feature that allows users to interact with the browser on a t0uch-enabled device. Mozilla has also tweaked several aspect of its Javascript engine that provides a faster, more streamlined browsing experience.

Firefox 4 Beta now has multi-touch support for Windows 7 to enable people to
interact with Web content with their hands naturally. Developers can use multi-touch capabilities to leverage touch-enabled devices and provide people with an intuitive and fun browsing experience. For more details, see the blog posts by Paul Rouget and Felipe Gomes.

New JavaScript Values
Changes to the C++ representation of JavaScript enable Firefox to execute heavy, numeric code more efficiently. This sort of code is used to produce smooth, streamlined graphics in modern Web applications. For more details, see Rob Sayre’s blog post.

Now for some stats: Like the previous Betas, Firefox 4 Beta 3 comes attached with the feedback add-on which Mozilla recommends to keep it on as it has helped more than a half-million testers to submit approx 3,500 pieces of feedback every day. Additional stats for Firefox 4 shows that majority of the people using the new betas are males, who use the web between 2-6 hours every day, and use Firefox for communication and entertainment (aka Facebook and Youtube…assumingly).

Users looking to try out the new beta can find it here.
