Quote: There is no doubt about it; Linksys/Linksys by Cisco (now called Cisco Home) has been a top player if not the top player in the consumer wireless router product line. The hardware is solid, performance is great, and hackability for 3rd party firmware is still very much a viable option for most of their wireless routers. BUT, the one thing that has always plagued the wireless router market is its lack of ease when it comes to initial setup. To someone that is tech savvy, setting up a wireless router is relatively painless, however to someone who is not the whole process can be very overwhelming, especially when vendors are constantly adding new features. I don’t know of a single tech person who hasn’t had to setup a family member’s or friend’s wireless router. Cisco is attempting to remedy this with their Valet line.
