New Android App Helps You Find Parking

Google’s new Open Spot helps users find parking spots freed by other Android users.

What seems like a god’s gift for humanity (especially for humanity in the UAE), Google has developed a new Android (2.0+) application called Open Spot that allows user to search for open parking spaces freed and marked by other Android users.

So basically this is how it works: Once you are leaving an occupied parking spot, you fire up your Android, mark the spot you are in as free and upload the data to Open Spot. This data then will be available to all other Android users helping them find parking quickly and become eco-friendly like ‘saving gas and reduce pollution’ in the process.

Unfortunately, the humanity in the UAE will have to wait a little as the app is currently only available in US, Canada, and Netherlands.

If you are living in any of these countries, why don’t you give this app a shot and let us know?
