Android tech lead discards Android 3.0 details rumors.
Late last week, a Russian website Digestive claimed that it had sufficient details on the upcoming Android 3.0 Gingerbread OS, which we promptly reported.
The rumor said that the new OS will launch at retail by November-December and will have a minimum hardware requirement of 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 4″ display, and will have an updated interface that will negate the need for third-party UI shells like HTC Sense, MotoBlur, etc.
It turns out the rumors were false (or partly false, who knows?). Android tech lead Don Morrill brushed off the rumors in two tweets saying that the details were all made up and should not be taken as an official announcement.
“I love it when people just make stuff up and report it as news,” tweeted Morrill.
“In summary, please remember that rumours are not official announcements,” he added.
