Users will be able to try before buy without the need to re-download the app.

Spotted by istartedsomething, a couple of pictures of Windows Phone 7′s features Microsoft’s initiative to offer trial-mode for games and the ability to unlock it within the app itself. That’s unlike Apple and Google’s mobile marketplace where users have to re-download the whole application after trying out the trials.

Microsoft is using the same concept as their Xbox 360 Arcade marketplace titles, where users download the full game but with limited features, and can unlock the game without the need download it again. While offering trial-modes in games are not a mandatory requirement by Microsoft, it does help developers in maintaining a single code for its applications and gives easy tools to limit what features the trials can offer.
