Celebrates the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a gala winner with the off DSF 2010 FIFA World Cup promotion.
Jumbo Electronics and Sony Gulf celebrated the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup yesterday with a gala dinner, held in honor of the winners of the 2010 FIFA World Cup promotion that ran during DSF 2010.
“As the world’s most popular sporting event, the FIFA World Cup appeals to a wide geographic and demographic audience, creating an emotional connection with both football fans and Sony fans,” said Osamu Miura, MD Sony Gulf.
As a key sponsor of 2010 FIFA, Sony Gulf marked its participation by conducting hugely successful for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and rewarding 15 couples from UAE to fly to South Africa for an all expense paid trip to watch the quarter final matches. Last night saw Jumbo Electronics – the exclusive distributors for Sony Gulf – in conjunction with Sony Gulf host an exclusive gala dinner. In the ballroom of the world famous Atlantis Palm Jumeira the fifteen lucky winners were presented with their tickets to the quarter finals or finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Sony Corporation signed a global partnership program contract with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). Effective January 2007, Sony formally embarked on a range of activities as an official partner of FIFA. This contract will run for 8 years until 2014, with a contract value of US$305 million.
Sony’s agreement with FIFA makes it a “FIFA Partner”, the highest level of sponsorship status accorded to only six companies. Sony has been chosen to partner FIFA in its “Digital Life” category (covering a wide variety of business activities from entertainment to electronics), and will engage in an array of global marketing and advertising activities at more than 40 FIFA events, including the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
