Users are reporting that iPhone 4 looses cellular signal if the device is held in the palm.

Reports have been flying in from yesterday from users complaining that the iPhone 4 looses call reception if it is being held in the palm.

Multiple brand-new iPhone 4 users have demonstrated the unusual behavior on YouTube which shows the iPhone loosing signal strength by going from 5 bars of coverage to ‘searching’ within a few seconds. In order to reverse this loss, users only needs to put the phone down and the signal strength will be restored in seconds.

According to Walt Mossberg, Apple has acknowledged the issue saying  that the trouble lies with “the way the bars are presented, not the actual inability to make a call,” and that a fix is forthcoming.
