Apple releases first shots from iPhone 4′s new 5MP camera; look very impressive.

Apple has published several sample shots taken with their latest smartphone, the iPhone 4, showcasing the quality of the new 5 megapixel snapper.

The pictures look very impressive with good color balance and saturation; however, while noise is kept under a minimum, the noise-reduction does seem to smear fine details – the last picture with the trees seems to have an oil-painting look. Still the iPhone 4 does manage to take some great pictures (at least in perfect lightning conditions), and coupled with a 720@30fps video recording capabilities, it is one of the better 5 megapixel-ers out there.
