National Media Council in talks with Google

NMC and Google agrees to continue media cooperation.

Officials from the National Media Council and Google discussed on a framework for Internet legislation and electronic publishing in the country, according to a report from WAM.

The meeting was held at the Internet City in Dubai on Friday, where Google was briefed on the role of regulating the media sector, coordination among the media institutions in the country and in the field of legislation concerning Internet and electronic publishing.

The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Al Abed Director-General of the National Media Council, Mohammed Abdullah, Director Dubai Media City, Malik Al Malik Director-General of the Dubai Internet City and Ahmed Najib, IT Director at the NMC. Google was represented byShona L. Brown, Senior Vice President – Business Operations, Google, Nelson Mattos, VP of engineering for Google, and a number of other officials.
