A look at upcoming Acer Smartphones inluding Liquid 2 and a Blackberry sytle Android device
Acer was showing off some of their latest and upcoming Smartphones at the DCC event in UAE yesterday.
There were a range of Android and Windows Mobile based devices and talking to Acer’s reps they seem quite excited about their line-up which from now to Gitex) October will see a lunch of six smartphones, half of which will be targeted towards the budget sector costing AED 999 (US$250) or less.
There were two Android handsets that I was shown that will be available at that price level, of which, one seemed quite interesting with a full qwerty candy bar design- very much like your blackberry, along with a touch screen.
Another interesting device is the follow up to Acer’s liquid Smartphone which is currently their highest-end device. Liquid 2 will be out by the end of the year and will feature all the high-end options and the latest Android OS build at its time of release.
*UPDATE: At the request of Acer, we have removed the videos for the upcoming devices.
On the Windows Mobile side, the rep confirmed that there will be a Windows 7 based model out when the OS is ready but until then, 6.5.x is their focus and once again, they will have budget phones that will start from as low as AED 700 (US$200).
