Repair work on the damaged undersea cable to be completed by April 27th, says Etisalat.

According to an update by Etisalat, repair work on the Sea-ME-We 4 undersea cable, which broke down in the Mediterranean Sea last week, has been delayed by a week and is “most likely” to be fixed by April 27th, 2010.

This comes after Thursday’s statement from Du which had said that the cable would be repaired by April 20th with, of course, a caveat of “subject to weather, sea and cable conditions”.

In the meanwhile, Etisalat said that it had added a new international alternative marine cable routes over the last two days, which it claims has “has significantly enhanced the Internet streaming services such as Youtube site access.”
