New Samsung Bada Phones, Future Plans Leaked

Samsung shows new Bada phones at a developer conference.

During a MobileMonday event in Russia, Samsung held a Bada Developer Day, showcasing its latest software platform in an attempt to attract potential developers. In one of its presentation slides, Samsung showed off four new Bada phones to be unveiled in the future.

There were no detailed information on these new smartphones, besides them being cheaper and two of the new phones supporting slide-out full QWERTY keyboard.

Samsung presenters also went over Samsung mobile’s latest UI, the TouchWIZ 3.0, and its integrated Social Hub. Samsung plans to expand its Bada range of smartphones in 75 countries, 156 operators and offer more than 6,500 apps at launch. The Korean giant also expects to overtake Nokia’s marketshare in the future, according to the slide below.

A new developer competition was introduced at the event. The contest is limited to Russia, with a total prize of USD 2.7m, with the winning programmer taking home $300,000. The competition ends on 15th August, 2010.
