New models with Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs and updated NVIDIA GT330 GPUs released in the US
After a few days of speculation, Apple has finally refreshed their line up of MacBook Pro. All models have been refreshed with the 13″ model now featuring the GeForce 320M graphics core and the older Core 2 Duo CPU at 2.4Ghz or 2.66GHz. Memory is now standard at 4GB and hard drive sizes are 250GB and 320GB. The battery life claimed on these 13″ models is 10 hours by Apple. Prices are set at US$1199 (AED 4400) and US$1499 (AED 5,500)
The 15″ model receives an update to the new Core i5 CPU from Intel at 2.4GHz, 2.53Ghz as well as the Core i1 at 2.66GHz. All of these models come with Intel HD Graphics as well as the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M GPUs with the Core i5 models featuring 512MB frame buffer and the i7 version featuring 512MB. A bit on the lower side in our opinion- they should’ve been 512MB and 1GB in today’s day and age. we’r also not sure if NVIDIA’s Optimus technology is supported. On the hard drive side, you get 320GB on the first i5 model while 500GB on the higher-end i5 and i7 models. Battery life is claimed to be 8-9 hours. Prices are set at US$ 1799 (AED 6600), US$1999 (AED 7300) and US$2199 (AED 8000)
Finally, the 17″ model surprisingly comes with the i5 as default instead of i7. In fact, it has identical specs to the 15″ Core i5 model running at 2.53GHz.
