Also known as the Droid, this device has been creating a lot of noise in the US and we can see why. While we’ve only had about 24 hours to play with this device launching in the UAE, it is the best Android based device that we’ve ever used.

Also known as the Droid, this device has been creating a lot of noise in the US and we can see why. While we’ve only had about 24 hours to play with this device launching in the UAE, it is the best Android based device that we’ve ever used.

With a 3.7″ hi-res capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 854×480, HSDPA radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS along with a sliding keyboard, the Milestone is one hell of a Smartphone that will take anything you throw at it. an 8GB MicroSD card is included which can be swapped for something as high as 32GB. Add a 5MP camera and a price tag of AED 2,500 you have our product of the week.

Ok- so we’ve managed to upload a screenshot showing Arabic support and the soft keyboard

It is a great device, though It lacks the Arabic support.

Is it going to support Arabic officially?

The unit we've has an Arabic keyboard. I think Arabic is supported through 3rd party software

A soft keyboard or on the physical QWERTY keyboard ??! PLEASE say the latter.

Where can I get it? + Does it read Arabic properly?

        • http://intensedebate.com/people/tbreaknet tbreaknet

Actually both the physical and the soft keyboards are Arabic enabled :)

    Own it, Love it!

Dude, I just called heard back from them, it does not have Arabic keyboard. I'm confused right now.
I spoke with a branch in Dubai.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/tbreaknet tbreaknet

Just spoke to Motorola and they confirmed that retail units will have Arabic just like the sample provided to us. I suggest going down there and checking it out.

  • CrazyCoolish

Can I have the number you used to contact the Motorola guys? I can't make it down to Dubai.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/tbreaknet tbreaknet

I apologize that I cant give that information out as its the product manager that I'm speaking to.

Where are you based out of? There should be a unit available close to you by this weekend as thats when it goes on sale everywhere

I'm from Al Ain. I'm glad that I stumbled upon this article, I was going to buy me a samsung device today. I spoke with Al Ain Jumbo branch, I was told they don't have motorola – I reckon he has no idea what product I was asking for. Dubai branch has the English keyboarded device.

I'd like to buy it ASAP.

Hi! Call 050-5513738 and I will be happy to guide you where to get the Arabic keyboard Motorola Milestone from.

  • Hazem KUNNANA

Do you have any idea if it will be available in other Arabic countries soon? specially Saudia Arabia?

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/tbreaknet tbreaknet

As per Motorola, the phone will be launched in Dubai and rolled over to the GCC states soon. My guess is that you should be able to find it within a month.

Ive had this device on the verizon network here in the US for over 3 months..it rox!! the only downfall is the keyboard keys soo close to each other…takes a while to get used to..
