Leaf intros 56-megapixel Aptus-II 10R camera back

Leaf has expanded its Aptus-II line of medium- and large-format camera backs with the 10R. The device integrates a 56-megapixel sensor measuring 56×36 mm and capable of capturing the full width of medium-format areas in either landscape or portrait orientation.

The internally-rotating sensor is said to allow photographers to keep their camera body upright while quickly shifting orientation during a shoot. Leaf claims the latest back is geared for architecture, landscape, portraits, or product advertising.

Users can capture images with sizes up to 345MB as 16-bit TIFF files. ISO settings range from 80 to 800, while the components support capture rates of up to one second per frame.

Supported cameras include many of the Hasselblad V series, Mamiya RZ- and RB-series, Fuji GX series, and Bronica SQA/SQAi, among others. The Aptus-II 10R is now available and carries a €25,000 (~$33,770 USD).
