Dell soon to launch 7 devices: Flash, Smoke, Looking Glass, Streak, Thunder, Aero & Lightning.
Looking to make up for lost time here, Dell will be soon launching smartphones and tablets upon us. Engadget has got their hands on leaked images and spec sheets of seven new devices from them. These devices will mostly feature the Android OS with one on Windows Phone 7 . Here is the complete list:
Dell Flash

OS: Android Froyo
Features: The smartphone will feature a ‘curve glass’ finish at 11mm thick, a 3.5″ WVGA LCD, 850/1900/2100MHz HSPA (14.4mbps down & 5.6mpbs “or better” up), 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and image stabilization, smile/blink detection, 512MB RAM and ROM with microSD expansion up to 64GB, WiFi, TV-out, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 3.0, and a Qualcomm MSM 7230 @ 800Mhz.
Dell Smoke

OS: Android Froyo
Features: A “non-conforming style” and at a price “that won’t break the bank”, the Smoke features a 2.4″ QVGA display, QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, 14.4mbps HSPA, microSD expansion to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, dual mic noise canceling , and a Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor.
Dell Looking Glass

OS: Android 2.1
Features: The Looking Glass tablet will come packed with a 7″ 800×480 display, optional TV tuner module, AT&T U-verse browser, 4GB RAM with another 4GB of flash storage, an SDHC slot for upto 32GB, 1.3 megapixel camera and a Tegra 2 processor.
Dell Streak 5 Tablet

OS: Android Donut with OTA Transition Eclair
Features: The newest Streak tablet will come with a 5″ WVGA display (800×480), 7.2mbps down and 5.76mbps up HSPA, 512MB ROM with 256MB SDRAM, 2GB ‘non-user accessible’ microSD sotrage with one microSD slot for upto 32GB expansion, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, and a QSD 8250 processor
Dell Aero

OS: Android 1.5
Features: With a Q2 release date, the Dell Aero will be the first mobile release among these. It will feature a 3.5″ capacitive multitouch screen (packed with a stylus for handwriting recognition), 5 megapixel camera with autofcous and flash, removable memory up to 32GB, Web Kit browser with Flash Lite, a ‘robust’ media player protected by Windows Media DRM, and a 524MHz Marvell processor. Aero will also come packed with Quickoffice, support for Microsoft ActiveSync and Exchange, photo editing tools, and “aggregated notifications” for social networks the device will sport.
Dell Thunder

OS: Android 2.1
Features: 4.1″ WVGA OLED screen, Dell “Stage” UI, Facebook, Twitter, Hulu and Youtube integration, Flash 10.1 support, 8 megapixel camera, WiFi, 7.2mbps down and 5.76mbps up HSPA, Swype text entry system, Cloud storage support, and some form of Snapdragon processor though there aren’t any specifics yet.
Dell Lightning

OS: Windows Phone 7.0
Features: The Dell Lightning will be a portrait slider features a 4.1″ WVGA OLED display, 3G, 5 megapixel camera, 1GB of Flash with 512MB RAM, 8GB of microSD sotrage, GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio, full Flash support and a 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon processor.
