Apple suggests fixes to iPad’s wi-fi woes, sets up FAQ.
Users of Apple’s latest device, the iPad, are having a tough time setting up their Wi-Fi connections and making them work. Based on comments posted at the official forums, some users are unable join their wireless networks after their iPads come out of sleep, while others can’t seem to get a signal at all unless they stick their iPads close to their routers. Users are also reporting sudden and unexpected drops in Wi-Fi signals in places where other devices, even Apple’s other products, seem to work just dandy.
Today, Apple confirmed the issue with a knowledge base article posted at the support page offering suggestions to fix the problem. However, the support note seems to be limited to a very spcific situation concerning multi-band routers.
There is one another FAQ posted at the support forums by an Apple employee that provides a few additional links to knowledge base articles, and can be found be here.
It remains to be seen if these suggestions offer any help to the problem at all.
