HD resolution, faster processing and a front-facing camera with multi-tasking support. Knowing Apple, we’ll get one of these with the rest planned for future updates.
Now that the iPad is (almost) here, the rumor mill has started predictions for the next-gen iPhone. Engadget has heard that the new iPhone will be called iPhone 4G and launched on June 22nd, while Daring Fireball has but up a list of specifications expected to be announced.
Apple A4-family system-on-a-chip. Nothing on whether that would be the ARM Cortex A9 multicore CPU with brand new PowerVR SGX GPU we’ve been drooling over, however.
960×480 display. That would be bigger than even the bigger DROID Google Android phone, but fit perfectly with the mediocre pixel-doubling announced for current iPhone apps on the iPad’s 1024×768 display.
Front facing camera. Which would mean all those iChat Video rumors we’ve been hearing about forever would finally come true, albeit after the HTC EVO 4G broke the barrier.
3rd party multitasking in iPhone 4.0. Yeah, that one we’ve got covered going way back. Which just don’t know how they’re going to implement it yet?
These rumors were kicked off with the leak of the supposed new screen on the iPhone with a much higher res screen that has been making the rounds in our usual websites.
