iPad: Brightcove HTML5 Framework Launched, iPad App Store Preview

The movie towards Flash-free sites gears up with Brightcover Experience Framework HTML 5 launch.

Brightcove today launched their free Brightcove Experience framework for HTML 5. This framework helps to ‘publish, distribute, and monetize web video for the iPad and other Apple devices’.  While Brightcove may not be familiar and as popular, websites like Times Inc. and New York Times are already using their new HTML 5 solution in preparation for Apple iPad’s launch on April 3rd, 2010. Now, with NPR, Wall Street Journal and CBS testing out their HTML5′ed iPad sites, this marks a big push against Flash which is sure to make Steve Jobs smug with satisfaction.

Also rumored for launch is an iBookstore with 30, 000 free e-books courtesy of the Gutenberg Project. Below is a video walkthrough of the supposed iPad app store. The video previews several new ‘HD’ formatted iPad apps – some new (Twitterific) and some which we have already seen.
