Nokia and Intel announce a partnership to bring MeeGo to multiple devices.


Nokia and Intel announced a partnership today to merge their two Linux based Operating Systems into on. Maemo powers the Nokia N900 while Moblin is great for Netbooks. With the two efforts combined, the idea is to provide one solution for multiple devices. Here is the official Word

“We are taking the best pieces from these two open source projects and are creating the MeeGo software platform. Both teams have worked for a long time to support the needs of the mobile user experience – and MeeGo will make this even better. We want it to be fun, focused, flexible, technically challenging and ultimately, something that can change the world.”
