A 14mpx camera with a 3.7 inch touchscreen and Wifi

Samsung has inadvertently tipped its hand as to a camera it may introduce at CES. The CL80 is poised to be Samsung’s first real connected camera and will have Wi-Fi to upload to Facebook, Flickr, Photobox and Picasa without having to sync with a computer. Its interface will be similarly advanced as Samsung promises a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen with haptic (vibration) feedback as the primary control scheme.

As an actual camera, it also stands to be one of Samsung’s most advanced point-and-shoots with a 14-megapixel sensor and a 7X (31-217mm film equivalent) wide angle lens with hardware image stabilization. Its light sensitivity will reach up to ISO 4,800 (6,400 at 3 megapixels), and it will shoot H.264 video at up to 720p resolution and with HDMI output for full-resolution previews.

Samsung expectedly doesn’t provide any signs of how much the camera will cost or when it will ship, but the appearance of an official US page indicates the company could use CES as the venue and may release the camera soon. [via DPReview forums]
