The Verdict:
ECS A785GM-M is a great board if you want an HTPC setup

The ECS A785GM-M motherboard is a micro ATX factor motherboard with dimensions of 24.4cm x 24.4cm.

Here is a closer look at the motherboard’s AM3 socket which supports AMD Phenom II processors with a high performance Hypertransport 3.0 CPU interface.

The board has 4x DDR3 DIMMs that support DDR3 1333/1066/800 up to a total of 32GB.

Next to the AMD SB710 chipset is the IDE connecter, 6x SATA connecters and 6x USB heads.

For expansion slots the board has 1x PCI-E x16, 2x PCI-E x1 and a single PCI slot.

The rear I/O Panel has a wide assortment of connections as shown above. These are 1x VGA and 1x DVI output, 1x HDMI, 1x FireWire 1394a,  1x RJ45,6x USB and audio ports which are 1x Line in, 4x Line out and 1x Optical SPDIF Out.

Onboard network is done by a REALTEK RTL811DL chipset that supports Gigabit networking. On board audio is a REALTEK ALC888S that supports 8-channel HD Audio.
