ECS P55H-A Motherboard

We take a look at the ECS P55H-A motherboard based on the Intel P55 chipset which is the successor to the P45 chipset

The Motherboard


This ECS P55 motherboard is a full form factor ATX motherboard with dimensions of 30.5cm x 24.4cm, the motherboard is equipped with solid capacitors all over it for longer life, improved operation and overclockability.


The LGA1156 socket supports the latest Intel® Lynnfield processors, around the socket is a unique dragon shaped heatsink covering the mosfets chipsets.


There are 4x DDR3 DIMMs supporting dual channel DDR3 1066/1333MHz.


The 6x SATA ports onboard are run by the P55 chipset and next to the 6x USB Headers is a debug LED to show the motherboard status and troubleshoot any issues. Next to this is the power and the reset button.


The motherboard has two x16 PCI Express Gen2 ports each supporting up to 8 GB/s direc¬tion peak bandwidth including an additional x4 PCI Express Gen2 port configuration to 2 x2 interface Compliant with PCI Rev 2.3 interface at 33 MHz and two standard PCI Slots


The rear panel as seen from the left to right has 2x ps/2 keyboard and mouse, 1x CMOS reset button, 8xUSB ports, 1x eSATA port , 1x RJ45 LAN connector and 5x Audio Jacks with a single Coaxial SPDIF output. The Realtek ALC888S high definition audio CODEC is used for onboard audio along with the Realtek RTL8111DL for Gigabit networking.
