To selected testers, Microsoft has released a Technical Preview of the Online Version of the Microsoft Office 2010 applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Like Google Docs, these Office Web Apps will allow you to use these applications from the comfort of your browser. The good news is that these Apps will not be restricted to Internet Explorer but will run under Firefox and Safari on the PC, Mac and Linux. Silverlight, while not required, will supposedly enhance the experience.
