Flickr iPhone App Released- Works in the UAE!

Considering that Flickr is inaccessible from UAE- at least from Etisalat’s network, I was quite surprised to see the iPhone app somewhat working. Considering that Flickr is inaccessible from UAE- at least from Etisalat’s network, I was quite surprised to see the iPhone app somewhat working. As long as you’re within the app, you can search for photos and view them off Flickr. However, accessing your account and contacts is browser based which pulls up the oh so familiar “Site Restricted” page of Etisalat in iPhone’s Safari.

Unfortunately, this means that you wont be able to “authorize” your account to upload pictures directly from your iPhone. Now if you were a bit tech savvy and say, had a VPN setup on the iPhone, you could easily bypass all these restrictions. I tried and it worked. Uploaded a photo from the Google event last night :)
