The PSU

The Corsair HX1000W modular PSU comes in a heavy weight black box that features a scratch-resistant black matte finish.

The rear panel presents a master power switch and an AC power socket with a honeycomb grille that allows for better air flow.

The steel grille is for the 140mm fan that is located on the bottom of the PSU.

A blue Corsair HX1000W logo is featured on both sides of the PSU.

A sticker on top of the PSU details the full specifications of the PSU.

The front side of the PSU features colour coded modular sockets. The four blue connections are for PCI-E power cables and the six black connections are for the peripheral power cables.

Under the Hood

Here are some views of what’s inside the PSU. There are two almost identical sections, each generating about 500 watts.

The modular sockets have a PCB behind them with cables cleanly connected to them.

The 140mm fan is manufactured by Yate Loon Electronics under model name D14BH12-LSSS. It is rated to run at 2800 RPM with a noise level of 48.5 dBA and 0.7A while operating at 12v.
