Conclusion

By eliminating the need for a flat base to take heat from the CPU and transfer it to the heat-pipe the Heat-pipe Direct Touch technology used by OCZ proves to be quite more effective than the standard heatsinks that do not use this method of heat transfer.

The installation is easy and straight forward. The only tricky part is mounting the fan on the heatsink in a specific position. The LGA 775 and AMD brackets are very easy to mount on to and install the heatsink on the CPU. However, the LGA 1366 retention bracket that OCZ included for us to test the heatsink on the Core i7 CPU required us to remove the motherboard from the chassis to install the back plate that is required.

The OCZ Vendetta 2 managed the following temperatures; at stock, an idle temperature of 47C and 66C at load. After cracking up the CPU voltage to 1.32v, the idle temperatures were 53C at idle and 86C at load. All the testing and readouts were done using the OCCT stress test software.

The OCZ Vendetta 2 heatsink can be bought online for USD 42.99 and the expected UAE local selling price is approximately AED 230.
