The upcoming Middle East Film & Comic Con in Dubai already has a very impressive roster of guests that includes actors from ‘Lord of the Rings’, ’24′, ‘Battlestar Galactica’, ‘One Tree Hill’ and a lot more. Now, the event has added the most high profile name yet onto the list – Khal Drogo himself will be attending MEFCC. Enough said.

Jason Momoa has been confirmed to be attending MEFCC as the guest. Those who don’t know him, he most recently played the iconic Khal Drogo in the excellent TV show ‘Game of Thrones’. But his big star turn was playing Conan in the remake of ‘Conan the Barbarian’. The actor has also appeared previously in the TV show ‘Stargate: Atlantis’ and had his beginnings in ‘Baywatch’.
We’ll be covering the event and keep a look out for some exclusive interviews and footage.
The Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) is the only consumer event for fans of cult entertainment & popular culture in the Middle East.

‘X-Men: First Class’ sequel shooting in January to avoid conflict with ‘The Hunger Games’ sequel

Though she had acted in smaller indies like ‘Winter’s Bone’ and ‘The Burning Plain’ before, most audiences were first introduced to Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in the excellent ‘X-Men: First Class’ before she got all hot and famous as Katniss for ‘The Hunger Games’. Considering 20th Century Fox had an contractual option on the actress for her to return for the sequel, that really put a sign of doubt on ‘The Hunger Games’ sequel which was hoping to shoot and be released by November 2013. Looks like both the studios have come to an agreement.

THR reports 20th Century Fox now plans to shoot the ‘First Class’ sequel in January 2013. Apparently, Fox is “informing talent agencies Thursday that the studio plans to begin shooting its in-development sequel to X-Men: First Class in January.” So that’s confirmed. This likely means that the sequel to The Hunger Games titled ‘Catching Fire’ will shoot sometime later this year and then Lawrence will be free to shoot the sequel to ‘First Class’ early next year.
Things look much better for the ‘X-Men’ sequel because not only is the cast including Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy contracted to return, Simon Kinberg is already writing a script with director Matthew Vaughn signed on to direct and Bryan Singer producing as well. What isn’t looking so rosy right now is ‘Catching Fire’ which doesn’t have Gary Ross signed on as the director and has a much tighter release date to adhere to. Read our pick of 9 directors who would be perfect to take the helm of the franchise, but I believe Lionsgate will work things out in time.

Steven Seagal offered ‘The Expendables 3′

Pretty soon, I’m sure there won’t be one actor in Hollywood who has done an action movie and hasn’t been offered a role in any of the Expendables movies. For now, Sylvester Stallone wants to assemble every major action hero into his film and one sore absence so far has been the 80′s action hero Steven Seagal. Now that Jean Claude Van Damme will be seen in the upcoming ‘The Expendables 2′, Seagal reveals that he’s been offered a part in the threequel.

Seagal told this French publication Excessif.com:
“[Sylvester Stallone] plans to do another one and I have already been made an offer.”
Hardly surprising, considering how Stallone is publicly reaching out to many action stars but the surprising bit of this news is that Segal and Van Damme are known rivals in the industry and now they’ll be in the movie together. Well, that’s assuming Van Damme survives the sequel which I doubt is going to happen.

Despite poor reviews, the Indian audience have been flocking to the theaters to watch Sajid Khan’s multi-starrer slapstick comedy, Housefull 2.
According to reports, the film did about 15 crore of business on its opening day, and have so far netted appox. 25 crore. The budget of the movie totals upto 70 crore and it seem the film will recover all of its money by the week’s end, thanks to satellite rights and what not.
The Kunal Kemu starrer Blood Money, which released along with Housefull 2, has earned only 9 crore rupees so far.
