Ed Helms To Do ‘Hangover 2′ Before ‘Central Intelligence’

Ed Helms is hilarious on the TV show ‘The Office’. But his star turn was in ‘The Hangover’. After that movie, he got offered a number of other films including ‘Central Intelligence’ which has a hilarious premise. But looks like Ed Helms is going back for another round of ‘The Hangover’ before shooting that.

Deadline reports that while production on ‘Central Intelligence’ might take a halt, Ed Helms has opted to shoot ‘The Hangover 2′ which is set to release in summer 2011. He also has another comedy ‘Jeff Who Lives at Home’ to shoot later this year.

This happens shortly after Bradley Cooper abandoned McG’s romantic comedy This Means War to do another slice of Hangover. Looks like everyone is excited to go for another round and that gives me hope for the project which could be as good as the original.

But no 3-D, please.

Edward Norton Doubts ‘Hulk 2′ Will Ever Happen

Edward Norton is possibly the most dedicated and versatile working actor today. Refusing to do big budget fare in the past, he took a star turn when he played Bruce Banner in 2008′s reboot ‘The Incredible Hulk’. Talks of a sequel took place but nothing came out off it. And Edward Norton believes nothing probably will.

Talking to Cinematical when promoting his latest ‘Leaves of Grass’ at SXSW festival, he says that the odds for a Hulk 2 taking place is very slim. Here’s his words when asked on the sequel ever happening:

“I don’t think so. I think it has got more to do with what Marvel is doing. I get the sense they have this grand vision of unspooling a lot of their characters and then starting to put them together. I think they can only do so many at a time. Obviously, they are doing Iron Man 2 and then getting some of the new ones out.”

He also says he won’t be cameo-ing in Thor or Captain America. Back when The Incredible Hulk was being made, Norton had a fallout with Marvel. See, he wrote a script and the finished film was about two and a half hours long which Marvel promised would remain. Later on though, it was slashed to bits to a more fashionable one hour fifty minutes runtime. In effect, Norton hardly promoted the film.

He says he has reconciled though. But what about ‘The Avengers’?

One more potential candidate for Captain America was just announced and it’s a considerably long time working actor unlike a few on the list.

HitFix is reporting that actor Ryan Phillippe has been added to the shortlist of candidates to play the titular character in Marvel’s upcoming ‘Captain America’ film. The list already includes Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Garret Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Push) and Wilson Bethel. Phillippe is dashing but isn’t really new to the business and has done quite a few smaller films like Stop-Loss, Breach and a supporting role in the Oscar winning Crash.

The race here is really heating up and it will be interesting to see who will end up donning the costume. Who do you think?
