When we first heard about the upcoming 3-D remake of ‘Fantastic Voyage’ being produced by James Cameron at Fox, it got us excited. Then came the news that director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) had been tapped for the project which was even greater news. Well, one of those isn’t happening anymore.

Deadline reports that Greengrass if no more directing ‘Fantastic Voyage’. Why, you ask? Well, turns out he was never really locked in for the job and it was still in the negotiation stage.
But Greengrass has moved on to possibly direct another big-budget project. The movie in question is ‘Treasure Island’ headed by producer Lionel Wigram (Sherlock Holmes) at Warner Bros. I think its a step down from ‘Voyage’, but Greengrass can probably do wonders with it.
No word on who will be taking on the job for ‘Fantastic Voyage’ now, but we’ll keep you posted.
