In what world does a movie about the ‘Magic 8 Ball’ get made and a sequel to a much-loved and quoted classic get passed? In Hollywood, of course. After so many false starts, director Adam McKay finally announced that the sequel to the hilarious ‘Anchorman’ could shoot soon with actors willing to take a paycut. All that came to an end with an announcement made by McKay himself.

Adam McKay made a sad announcement on his Twitter account saying that Paramount has passed on the idea for an ‘Anchorman 2′:
“So bummed. Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2. Even after we cut our budget down. We tried.”
This basically puts the movie to rest even though Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd agreed to pay cuts. What else does Paramount want? Do they not see the merit in making a sequel to a hit film that people quote to this day?Anyway, I really hope there’s a way another studio could take it up but that’s unlikely to happen.
So long, Ron Burgundy.
