Just as the Oscars ended, we were treated with a brand new trailer to Iron Man 2 thanks to Jimmy Kimmel Live. And it’s action-packed to say the very least.
Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark, the wealthy playboy whose exploits as Iron Man are now public knowledge after his admission at the close of the first film. In the follow-up, Stark is pitted against his Russian arch nemesis, Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), and corporate rival Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell).
The race-track sequence (pictured above) will undoubtedly be the highlight of the film if the trailer is any indication. Also, it’s good to see Sam Rockwell getting into the mainstream. Although I’m not really digging the mutiple villain storyline here since the butchery of Venom in Spider-Man 3 is still fresh in my mind. Nevertheless, this firmly places Iron Man 2 as the must-see of the year (as if it wasn’t already).
