To all four of you who watched the action flick ‘S.W.A.T.’ in awe and craved more and more, we’ve got some sad news. You’re getting it.

Columbia Pictures has hired Benny Boom, the director of ‘Next Day Air’, to direct a script written by Reed Steiner. Apparently, the plot has nothing to do with the original too:
“Transferred to Detroit to put a local SWAT team through a training regimen, LAPD Lieutenant Paul Cutler finds himself the target of a homicidal genius who is protected by government officials.”
I don’t recall a Paul Cutler in the original so looks like this will predictably go direct to DVD without any original cast. Which brings me to the question- why even bother?
