If you’ve ever watched the show ’24′, it always felt like a thrilling action movie even though it ran in real time. There was always talk of a big screen adaptation but things never materialized. Until now.

Kiefer Sutherland has convinced Fox to hire writer Billy Ray (Flightplan, State of Play) to write a draft for the film adaptation of the T.V. Show. 24, which is in its 8th season also presumed to be its last, follows the life of FBI agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he deals with various threats including bombings and assassinations with a race against time. The show is set in real time, with each episode dealing with 1 hour of the lead’s life and a season dealing with 24 hours (hence the title).
The film however will be a “a two-hour representation of a day.” The character is popular enough that people will come to see this film even though the gimmick will be lost on screen.
