‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ Getting A Reboot With New Stars

The first thought after reading this definitely goes: ‘Really?’ Tackling lack of original ideas since the past few years, Hollywood has put another good movie down the reboot machine – ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’.
Vulture reports that Fox is planning a reboot of the original film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, only this time it has a different title and new stars. The title will be ‘Mr. and Mrs. Jones’ which will carry the same basic concept with new (cheaper) actors. The idea this time will be to make it an origin story where the characters have to pretend to live together as a married couple after their special training.
Why does this have to be a reboot of that film when it has almost nothing in common with it? Looks like they’re just attaching the name for awareness. Anyway, as long as it is not the same film (which would be utterly pointless), there could be at least some fun we could get out of seeing new actors hellbent on killing each other, right?
Right?
