In a move that shows that studios learn nothing from the failure of previous films (I’m looking at you – Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li), Warner Bros. are apparently developing a reboot of the iconic series ‘Mortal Kombat’.

BD reports Oren Uziel has been hired to pen the screenplay to the film that will be the first in 13 years. There was always reports of a third film being in production but nothing ever seemed to come out of it. Now, I assume due to the hype of upcoming ‘Mortal Kombat 6′, interest in another film has been renewed.
But then again, the Street Fighter flick was greenlighted to cash-in on the new Street Fighter game and we all know how that one turned out.
This one definitely has the potential of being a ‘so bad its good’ kind of cheesy action flick that is hopefully not ‘so bad its painful’.
