Jay Baruchel Scores A Hottie In ‘She’s Out of My League’ Trailer

2010 could either be a good year for Jay Baruchel or a bad one. But it will sure be a landmark one. He’s scored leads in the Disney blockbuster ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’, voice lead in Dreamworks’ ‘How to Train your Dragon’. But here’s a movie he has in the mix for the guys – ‘She’s Out of My League’. And now its got a cliche but amusing trailer.

The plot centers around an unlikely hero – an average joe named Kirk, (Jay Baruchel) who works at an airport as a Transportation Security Administration officer and has very few goals in life, other than trying to get back together with his evil ex-girlfriend Marnie. Then he meets a smart, sexy, charming young woman called Molly (Alice Eve) – and, contrary to all expectations, starts dating her. His initial excitement turns to panic, as his own insecurities and the advice of family and friends threaten to ruin the relationship.

Looks funny and Baruchel is charming, but I don’t understand why the studio chose to market in the line of a female romantic comedy instead of a raunchy male comedy. The two different audiences definitely don’t overlap and would end up hurting the movie in the end if they try to go for both.

Trailer after the jump.
