Talk about having a good week. The screenwriters of the hilarious zombie comedy ‘Zombieland’ Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are not only writing the X-Men spin-off ‘Deadpool’ for Fox, but IESB reports that Paramount has hired them to pen the sequel to last year’s ‘G.I. Joe’ too.

There’s no word on when Fox will put Deadpool in production. Ryan Reynolds is confirmed to return as the mercenary he played in last year’s ’X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ but since he’s currently doing another big budget superhero film ‘Green Lantern’, his busy schedule could take lot of time to clear up.
As for the G.I. Joe sequel, although no one really asked for it, I guess you could say the first film was a moderate success although not nearly as Paramount had expected. But Paramount seems ready to give it another go and most of the actors are contractually obliged to star in the second.
The humor in Zombieland was unique and hilarious so its good to see two competent writers getting work in Hollywood.
