Other than the quite slick posters, I was pretty much ready to skip Pierre Morel’s upcoming actioner ‘From Paris with Love’ starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers due to an underwhelming trailer. That’s until I saw the newly released trailer, of course.
The thriller centers on a low-ranking intelligence operative (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) working in the office of the U.S. Ambassador in France takes on more than he bargained for when he partners with a wisecracking, fast-shooting, high-ranking U.S. agent (John Travolta) who’s been sent to Paris to stop a terrorist attack.
Even though the plot is still nonsensical, this trailer outlines what Pierre Morel has the knack for (as witnessed in the brilliant District B13) – off the wall amazing action sequences. And there’s plenty of goods on display here especially during the last thirty seconds. And John Travolta has never looked more badass. At least now I’ve got great action sequences to look forward to.
