John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ is set to get a prequel by Universal Pictures is in the making already. Now there is a shooting schedule too.

The prequel is set to begin its shoot in March all the way to June. The location is set as Toronto, Canada. The film is being directed by Matthijs Van Hejningen and will, as everyone should know, deal with the arrival of a shape-shifting alien at Norwegian Antarctic facility wreaking havoc there with the researchers.
‘The Thing’ by John Carpenter was one of the creepiest and well-made isolated thrillers I’d seen. So why am I not so angry about this remake? Because Carpenter’s version was a remake in itself of a 1951 film ‘The Thing from Another World’, which goes to show that remakes can be as good as , if not better than the original.
It will sure be hard to top Carpenter’s brilliant remake though.
