Long ago, an American remake for the Spanish horror film ‘The Orphanage’ was announced. Fear not, since Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy) himself is producing the venture. And now a director is named.

Mark Pellington, the director of Arlington Road (a personal favorite) and The Mothman Prophecies, is helming the remake. The Mothman Prophecies itself was a chilling horror film but not without its problems. For those who don’t know, ‘The Orphanage’ is one of the finest foreign horror films of the decade and has to be seen by a large audience. It’s scary, emotional and heartbreaking. How could the remake turn out?
I hope it doesn’t turn out to be ‘heartbreaking’ in a whole different way.
