First Hi-Res Look To New Freddy Krueger From ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Remake

Platinum Dunes, the company that brought us remakes of horror classics such as ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, ‘The Hitcher’, ‘The Amityville Horror’, ‘Friday the 13th’ and many more is back at it with taking a shot at the classic ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’. There was a trailer that was impressive considering their history of butchering movies, but many people voiced complaints on the new Freddy Krueger and his design. New Line has provided a hi-res look at him below.

Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) returns in ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: They are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another … but when they sleep, there is no escape.

Jackie Earl Haley. That’s an Oscar nominated actor who’s playing Freddy (he played Rorscach in this year’s ‘Watchmen’). If that’s not a big thing for them, I don’t know what is. And he has also said that he’s confirmed for two more sequels after this one, so prepare to see more of him.
