Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen to join ‘Scary Movie 5′
Suddenly, the idea doesn’t seem all that bad.
The ‘Scary Movie’ franchise is the only modern spoof series that actually is funny of varying degrees and can be a welcome return every now and then thanks to the horror genre changing and warranting a good spoof. But Anna Faris has been the lead of all of them and the center of attraction, so moving on without her sounds like a bad idea. The studio has hired Ashley Tisdale as her replacement and has a January 2013 release date for the film. Now, we get two more big cast updates that actually make the movie look worth it.

E! Online reports that actors Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen have both signed on to roles in the upcoming ‘Scary Movie 5′. The film will be directed by Malcolm Lee with David Zucker writing and producing, and Sheen will be reprising his character Tom Logan from ‘Scary Movie 3′ while Lohan will be playing an unknown and new character. The film is set to spoof the modern horror film ‘Paranormal Activity’ as well as ‘Black Swan’, which is a strange combination but this is the same franchise that spoofed ‘War of the Worlds’ and ‘Saw’ in the same film. I just hope they manage to keep it funny and don’t cram too many references into the film.
The presence of Leslie Nielsen, who passed away last year, will be missed though.
Thoughts?
