‘Despicable Me’ minions getting their own spin-off movie
The yellow minions are getting their own film to star.
Illumination Entertainment and Universal has seen great success with ‘Despicable Me’ and its sequel that hits cinemas next summer, and one of the standout characters from that franchise are the minions that everybody seems to love. So much so that they’ll now get their own film.
Deadline reports that the studio has begun development on a spin-off starring the yellow minions from the series, and will not only add new characters but some familiar faces from ‘Despicable Me’ will return. But they say that still the “the antics of the yellow fellows as they interact with human characters.” Brian Lynch is writing the script, with Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda sharing directorial duties. Strangely, they also voice the Minions so that’s got to be interesting.
I remember the minions being cute in the film, but I don’t know how much potential they have for a feature film. What do you think?
