‘Need For Speed’ film gets a February 2014 release date
The adaptation of the popular EA racing game franchise now gets a release date.
It seemed like it may be one of those adaptations that would be lost in development hell for a while, but looks like DreamWorks is really serious about their ‘Need for Speed’ movie. How serious? They’ve now locked in a release date.
The film, based on the very popular EA racing franchise, will now release on February 7th, 2014 according to Deadline. Scott Waugh is set to direct the film, who was one of the directors of this year’s surprise hit ‘Act of Valor’. We still don’t know much about the plot of the film or any casting details, but it will be hard for the studio to make a worthy film while also not coming off as a ripoff of the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise.
