Matt Damon could join Jeremy Renner in ‘Bourne 5′, according to producer
The real Jason Bourne could be a part of his own series again in the future.
Those who were pissed about the fact that ‘The Bourne Legacy’ doesn’t feature Matt Damon as Jason Bourne but Jeremy Renner playing another character instead (which includes me) can breathe a sigh of relief … kind of. According to the film’s producer, Matt Damon could be back in the franchise’s fold again.

Producer Frank Marshall told Empire that even though ‘The Bourne Legacy’ focuses on a different character, he hopes that the fifth film can actually have both Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner starring:
“You see there are several different programmes in the movie with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.”
Makes sense, and it’s not like Matt Damon will straight up reject playing a character that everyone remembers him as. But there’s the whole Paul Greengrass issue that the series has to face, since the actor didn’t want to do a Bourne film without Greengrass directing and wasn’t happy when he was replaced and the movie went forward either way. But pl0t-wise, things can make sense and it would be great to see what happens if both these protagonists team up.
Thoughts?
