‘Sesame Street’ movie is on its way
The beloved TV show is coming to a cinema near you soon enough.
‘The Muppets’ was pretty successful in cinemas last year when it released by Disney, especially with critics and audiences. Now, looks like the even bigger and more relevant puppet show is going to see the light of the big screen.

Heat Vision reports that 20th Century Fox has acquired rights to the still-very-popular kids TV show. The best part? They hired the long time Sesame Street writer Joey Mazzarino to pen the script instead of some random Hollywood screenwriter who would bastardise it for a quick paycheck. Shawn Levy, Michael Aguilar, Mark Gordon, and Guymon Casady are producing but there’s no other information on the film so far in terms of director or human actors. The puppets will all most likely be in there though, thanks to their inability to demand huge salaries.
The show has been a part of many childhoods including mine and it’s great to see that a whole new generation will get to see it on the big screen. I just hope that Fox treats it more like the ‘The Muppets’ and very less like ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’.
