Universal pushing ‘Snow White & The Huntsman’ sequel
Surprisingly good box-office performance is the reason.
Aside from an excellent performance by Charlize Theron as the evil Queen, there wasn’t anything much to ‘Snow White & The Huntsman’ that I would call sequel-worthy. Yet, the movie has surprised Universal with its better than expected box office performance. Thus, a sequel is in order.
Deadline reports that the studio has hired David Koepp to pen a script for the sequel which they are very much looking to fast-track. Before the movie released, there was talk that the sequel won’t feature Snow White but will instead focus only on the Huntsman which was a cool idea. The only way I would pay to see a sequel if it’s about the Hunstman infiltrating other classic fables like Snow White, which would be a cool way to go.
But now, it looks like it will be a continuation of this film and will have Snow White as well as the dwarves returning, which is pretty pointless considering their story had come to a proper end. But there’s no confirmation of anything, including whether director Rupert Sanders will return for a sequel.
